Meet Tabish Ghani

Student Spotlight

Meet Tabish Ghani, a 21-year-old management and administration major and native of Kashmir, Pakistan.

Ghani began his academic journey at Gordon State College in the fall of 2019. He credits GSC for giving him opportunities for personal growth and an education that has helped him expand his knowledge not only academically, but beyond the classroom.

Taking upper-level business classes has elevated his interest in his field of study and become closer to his professors. His professors carry years of professional experience outside of academia and have been a great help to him while standing by his side since day one. They congratulate and celebrate with him at each milestone completed.

An active member on campus, Ghani is a Presidential Fellow and a member of the Toastmasters and Honors Club. In fall of 2021, Ghani served as project manager for the IREX Program, an eight-week virtual exchange with Duhok Polytechnic University in Duhok, Iraq. Their team, Nawroz EDGE, together created a recycling initiative with the tagline, “Think Globally, Act Locally,” which placed in the top three finalist teams of the Global Solutions Sustainability Challenge.

An interesting fact about Ghani is that he is multilingual. He is fluent in Kashmiri, Urdu/Hindi, and Punjabi. In addition, he can read Arabic. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, barbequing, and playing a game of Cricket and Ludo with his siblings.

After graduating in the fall of 2022, Ghani plans on working for a few years to gain experience and develop expertise before starting a business or becoming an entrepreneur.

"GSC is a place you can grow and develop yourself. It is truly an honor to be part of this wonderful, close-knit community that loves and takes care of you," said Ghani.
