Meet Brad Fowler
Staff Spotlight
Brad Fowler serves as the Systems Administrator, where he maintains user accounts throughout our system, assists users no matter what the need be, and setups/maintains various systems. His favorite part of the job is his co-workers. “You are always learning in IT and they have been there for me each and every day. I also enjoy interacting with the students, faculty and staff regularly.”
After retiring from the Georgia Department of Labor’s IT department in 2020 after 27 years of service, Fowler missed IT work and took a position supporting End Violence Against Women International in 2021. In 2022, he saw the opportunity at Gordon and joined in November.
His proudest moments come from small ones, like simplifying someone’s job or solving a problem for a colleague. Gordon has reignited his passion for IT, making each day a positive experience. Even after 30+ years, IT is always evolving, and he enjoys applying what he’s learned while continuing to grow.
“When I help students, I make sure they know how to contact me, because there are always new challenges ahead. I assist with their issues and explain how to fix them, so they’re better prepared next time. Most importantly, I remind them that they’re never alone—we’re all here to help.”
Outside of work, Fowler runs Camelot Theatre Company in Griffin, now in his 26th year. He’s been with them for 22 years in various roles but currently serves as President and Principal Director. “It’s a labor of love where I wear many hats—directing, sound, lighting, set design, and more. Seeing the impact theatre has on people keeps me committed to it.”
In his free time, Fowler enjoys spending time with his family, riding his motorcycle, and keeping busy with Camelot.
“Being part of the Highlander community means being part of a family. We support each other to create the best experience possible for students, helping them make lasting memories and prepare for their futures.”
