Mission Statement
The mission of the Dorothy W. Hightower Collaborative Learning Center & Library is to support the teaching, learning, and research needs of the college community by providing a knowledgeable staff, resources, tools, information, learning spaces, and instruction in evaluative and lifelong learning skills.
Description
Conveniently located between Lambdin Hall and the Instructional Complex, Hightower CLC & Library is available for faculty and student use. Hightower Collaborative Learning Center & Library presently houses approximately 103,000 books, over 1 million electronic books, 10,406 microfilms and 4,785 audio-visual materials, as well as numerous archival materials. Students, faculty, and staff have access to all eligible circulating materials at all USG libraries through a Universal Catalog and GIL Express. The library currently subscribes to 35 print magazines and newspapers and has available over 8,000 full text online journals in GALILEO. Hightower CLC & Library is an integral part of Gordon State College life.
