Textbook Affordability Council

The purpose of the Textbook Affordability Councilis to:

Promote and support affordable or free teaching and learning materials to save students money
Provide credible and reliable learning resources for the classroom

The duties of the Textbook Affordability Council include but are not limited to:

Ensure affordable, supportive access to educational resources
Promote Affordable Learning Georgia initiatives
Promote the creation, use, and implementation of free or low-cost open education resources including textbooks in the classroom
Promote the use and implementation of library resources in the classroom
Conduct workshops on locating and utilizing open education and library resources in the classroom
Conduct workshops on applying for book transformation grants
Conduct workshops on textbook affordability and what is involved with reducing student costs
Determine methods for reducing textbook costs
