General Education Committee

Purpose

The purpose of the General Education Committee shall be to oversee the assessment of the core curriculum.

Composition

  1. Dean of the School of Business, Liberal Arts, and Social Sciences
  2. Assistant Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness
  3. One faculty member with at least one year of full-time teaching experience from each of the following academic units:  Natural Sciences;  Business and Public Service;  History and Political Science; Humanities;  Fine Arts;  Mathematics, Computer Science, and Engineering
  4. Faculty Senator (1)
  5. Dean of Nursing, Health, and Natural Sciences
  6. Director of Institutional Research and Effectiveness (non-voting)

Members will serve two-year terms.

Duties

The General Education Committee shall work with the Faculty Senate Assessment Committee in achieving Gordon State College academic assessment and review processes in accordance with established timelines.
