Graduation

Application for Graduation

Any student who plans to graduate from Gordon State College is required to complete the Online Graduation Application process in Banner Web-Students (link found in bottom footer of this page). All applications will be reviewed by the Gordon State College Registrar's Office to insure that all requirements for graduation are or will be satisfied by the anticipated date of graduation.

Students must submit their Online Graduation Applications no later than the official mid-term date of the semester prior to the anticipated semester of graduation. A student who plans to graduate at the end of the Spring Semester, for example, is required to submit an online application for graduation no later than the mid-term date of the previous Fall Semester.

Students may graduate at the end of any semester in which all degree requirements are fulfilled. Formal commencement exercises are held at the end of Fall and Spring Semesters. In the event that a student does not complete degree requirements by the end of the anticipated semester of graduation and therefore does not graduate, a new application for graduation must be submitted.

To graduate a student must satisfy the requirements for a degree by meeting all of the requirements listed in any one of the catalogs in effect during the students's period of consecutive enrollment in the College. However, returning students who have had an absence from Gordon State College of three semesters or longer must meet requirements of one of the catalogs in effect subsequent to their return.

Graduation Ceremony Registration System

Once notified of eligibility to graduate, a student must login to the Graduation Ceremony Registration System to verify whether or not he/she will be participating in the graduation ceremony as well as how his/her name should appear on the diploma and on the graduation program. Students will login to the Graduation Ceremony Registration System with their Single Sign-on login information.
