Gordon State College online courses may require a proctored examination. In a proctored exam, someone monitors the student as he/she completes the exam. Gordon State has two options: One is using a service for electronic monitoring while the other involves live monitoring via a testing center.
Since Gordon State College does not charge an e-tuition, students are required to pay for the proctoring service (for either option). The price often depends on the length of the exam.
Option 1: Proctoring Services
ProctorU Live+
ProctorU Live+ is an electronic proctoring system that allows students to complete their exams from any location. Please note that ProctorU Live+ cannot be used with a chromebook. Students must use a desktop or laptop (no mobile devices). A proctor joins the student in the online environment and is live with the student as he/she completes the exam. In order to use ProctorU, the student will need:
- desktop or laptop computer (tablets, chromebooks, smartphones are not sufficient)
- webcam
- speakers
- Internet access
- the Guardian Browser installed, which can be downloaded here

Respondus Monitor
Respondus Monitor is a fully-automated proctoring solution. Students use a webcam to record themselves during an online exam. Afterward, flagged events and proctoring results are available to the instructor for further review.
Option 2: Testing Center
Testing Centers
Students have the ability to complete their proctored exam in a testing center. Gordon State College has a testing center on the second floor of the Student Center. Other campuses also have testing centers or provide proctoring services.
