The Center for Workforce Development (CWD) at Gordon State College supports the academic, professional, and institutional development of the Gordon community. The CWD brings together key student support and workforce-focused initiatives to ensure that students are prepared not only to succeed in the classroom, but also to thrive in their careers and communities.

The Center for Workforce Development includes:

  • Career Services Center

  • Faculty–Student Mentoring

  • The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning

Through these coordinated services, the CWD strengthens student persistence, academic achievement, career readiness, and professional growth across campus.


Student Success Center

The Student Success Center is the primary hub for academic support at Gordon State College. While additional resources are available across campus — including the STEM Center and the Library — the Success Center serves as the central location where students can receive coordinated academic assistance.

Located on the second floor of the Student Center (above the bookstore), the Student Success Center houses:

Our professional advisors work closely with students to develop academic plans, select courses, monitor progress toward graduation, and connect students with campus resources. Tutoring services provide individualized and small-group academic support to help students master course content and build strong study strategies.

The Student Success Center is committed to supporting students at every stage of their academic journey.

How to Schedule an Advising Appointment

  1. Click here to access Navigate.
  2. Visit the appointment link and select the blue “Get Assistance” button.

  3. Choose “Meet with Your Success Team.”

  4. Select your advisor’s name.

  5. Under “Pick a Date,” choose the date that works best for you.


Career Services Center

The Career Services Center, located down the hall from the Student Success Center on the second floor of the Student Center (near Counseling and Accessibility Services), focuses on preparing students for life after graduation.

Career Services provides:

  • Career counseling and exploration

  • Resume and cover letter development

  • Interview preparation

  • Internship search and support

  • Job search strategies and workforce preparation

  • Networking and professional development opportunities
