Student Code of Conduct

Midterm Grades

Midterm grades for Term A courses have been posted in Banner Web. Students may drop Term A courses with a grade of ‘W’ (Withdrawal Passing) until 5 PM on Monday, June 16th . To drop or withdraw from courses, please submit a Student Withdrawal Form (Complete Withdrawal): Withdrawal Form or Schedule Change Form (Partial Withdrawal): Schedule Change Form to the Registrar’s Office (Lambdin Hall, Rm 126) or registrar@gordonstate.edu by the 5 PM deadline on June 16th.

Student Code of Conduct

The Student Code of Conduct outlines the policies and procedures established to promote the mission and protect the rights and privileges of the entire Gordon State College campus community.

As a GSC student, it is your responsibility to uphold the Student Code of Conduct by engaging responsibly with the GSC community.

Dean of Students

As the Chief Conduct Officer for the College, the Dean of Students ensures all policies and procedures outlined in the Student Code of Conduct and Highlander Guide for Community Living are enforced to maintain a safe and healthy living and learning environment for all campus community members. 

Student Conduct Board (SCB)

A student committee outlined in the Student Government Association constitution and advised by the Dean of Students, this board adjudicates alleged violations of the Student Code of Conduct. The SGA Chief Justice chairs the SCB. 

Highlander Guide for Community Living

The Highlander Guide to Community Living outlines the policies and procedures the college has established to promote a safe and healthy residential living experience.   If you would like to report an alleged violation of the Guide, click on the "Reporting a Concern or Incident" link below. 

How to Report an Incident or Behavior of Concern:

  1. A student wishing to file a general complaint should complete the Incident Reporting Form. The completed form will be reviewed by the Office of the Dean and assigned to the appropriate department for resolution.
  2. Student will receive confirmation that the complaint was received by the college within 48 hours of submission. Student may be contacted to provide additional detail regarding the complaint.
  3. Student will be notified in writing of the resolution of the complaint within 7-10 business days. (Additional time may be needed to thoroughly review and investigate complaint depending on the complexity of the complainant submitted).
  4. Should the student not be satisfied with the resolution, the student may appeal the decision to the Vice President of the division of the college with oversight of the complaint. To be considered, the appeal must contain new and/or additional information which was not presented in original complaint which may change outcome of original decision made. Student will be notified in writing within 5 business days of the appeal outcome of the Vice President.
