Message From the Chief of Police

As Director of Public Safety, I am honored to have the opportunity to serve the Gordon State College campus community. The Gordon State College (GSC) Police Department prides itself on building community partnerships throughout Lamar County to help create a safe and secure environment to learn, work, live, and play on campus.

The GSC Police Department believes in developing collaborative community partnerships that will engage in problem-solving current issues at hand. We realize that such a model promotes policing as a shared responsibility, which enhances the effectiveness and favorability of public safety strategies implemented.

In an effort to connect with the entire campus community, the Department of Public Safety extends its welcome to campus and requests that you allow yourselves to become acquainted with the members of our police department as we all get to know each other.

With our overall focus centered on student success, I want to thank you for taking the time to read this message and welcome your questions, comments, and suggestions that coincide with our mission to improve the quality of life on our campus.

I also encourage you to download the LiveSafe app on your smartphone to always remain connected with our office. This app allows two-way communication between our department and the campus community for any relevant emergency and non-emergency information.

Stay Safe Highlanders!
