Student Activity and Recreation Center (SARC)

For the last several weeks, the Gordon State College Task Force has been working diligently to prepare for and prepare our institution's approach to COVID-19.
Per the direction from the University System of Georgia, Gordon State College will temporarily suspend instruction for two weeks, starting March 16th, 2020. We take very seriously the responsibiltity to make prudent and well informed choices for the well-being of our campus communities and the public. We continue to prepare for all scenarios in this rapidly evolving situation. All USG institutions have plans to ensure academic coninuity as operations are impacted. The USG is providing regular updates to all institutions and the public and its website, https://www.usg.edu/coronavirus.

Guest Policy for Faculty/Staff:


Only current students, faculty, and staff are able to use the facility. Valid GSC ID is required for entry.


All guests* must obtain a guest pass from the Director of Student Life and Recreation, Brie Mcdaniel. You may contact her via email at briennem@gordonstate.edu or by dialing 678-359-5133. Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.


Any campus groups requesting to use the Challenge Course must schedule through Dr. Osborne. You may contact him via email at aosborne@gordonstate.edu. Outside groups must schedule to use the challenge course by contacting Community Education by dialing 678-359-5126. All participants must be at least 70 pounds.


Highlander Trail is open and welcome for all to use, with no pass necesary. The trail is for walking/running only. No bicycles, skateboards, or pets are allowed on the Highlander Trail.

*Guest is defined as any immediate family member of a Gordon State College Faculty/Staff member
