A New Chapter for Highlander Nation

Gordon State College proudly welcomes Dr. Russell Crutchfield as the College’s sixth president and celebrates the beginning of a new chapter in GSC’s 175-year legacy of transforming lives through education.

With nearly two decades of leadership experience in higher education and state government, President Crutchfield brings a deep commitment to student success, educational opportunity and the communities Gordon State serves. His experience strengthening connections between education and Georgia’s workforce complements GSC’s continued focus on preparing students with the knowledge, skills and confidence to move forward into their futures.

As Gordon State looks ahead, President Crutchfield joins a Highlander Nation grounded in connection, opportunity and a shared commitment to helping students thrive. Together with GSC’s faculty, staff, alumni, community partners and friends, he will build upon the College’s strong foundation while advancing opportunities for innovation, collaboration and meaningful growth.

This new chapter also comes at a significant moment in Gordon State’s history. As the College celebrates 175 years of serving students and communities, we honor the generations of Highlanders who shaped our past while looking confidently toward those who will shape our future.
