President's Letter

One year ago, we launched our Strategic Plan entitled “Building the Power of WE.” This ambitious five-year plan focused on three strategic imperatives designed to move the institution forward. We accomplished a great deal in Year One – The Year of Implementation. Many of the goals from the past year focused on establishing baseline processes and approaches to our collective work.

It is my goal in the next year to ensure that we focus on excelling past our goals and producing excellence in everything we do. As this transition takes place, I am confident we will remain relevant to our students, community, and the 14 county region we serve. It takes a team to make the end goal a reality, and I am confident we have the right individuals to achieve those goals.

As we make the shift from the “Year of Implementation” to the “Year of Modification,” please know that I, along with the Cabinet, value our faculty, staff, students, and community members. We will make it through this next stretch of the journey. I want to thank all of you for your continued support and dedication to our home, Highlander Nation.

Highlanders Forward,

Dr. Kirk A. Nooks
