Immunizations

Immunizations:

The University System of Georgia requires that all new students (freshman, transfers, and others who attend regularly scheduled classes on-campus) submit a certificate of immunization to the Admissions Office prior to attending classes.

The purpose of the policy is to ensure that students are protected by immunizations against communicable diseases that are preventable and to reduce the likelihood of an epidemic or threatened epidemic on a Georgia public college/university campuses.

Influenza Vaccine:

Gordon State College Student Health Services offers an annual influenza vaccine to students, faculty, and staff. The flu vaccine is free to currently enrolled students and is covered by their student health fee. A small fee is charged for the vaccine for faculty and staff.

International Travel:

Know before you go: Which vaccines do you need for your trip?

Any faculty, staff, or student traveling out of the country need to be aware of diseases that are inherent to that country. Plan a couple of months in advance if there is a series of vaccines that are required.
