Gordon State College Appoints New Assistant Vice President of Finance, Administration

Gordon State College has appointed Dr. Uzell Williams as Assistant Vice President of Finance and Administration.

Before joining Highlander Nation, Williams served as the chief accounting officer and controller at Albany State University. Her career experience includes financial management, budgeting, and accounting services, with expertise in data analytics, financial reporting, and compliance management. Williams also brings extensive training in leadership and customer service, having led teams in various roles.

In her new position, Williams will oversee GSC’s budget development and management, support strategic planning, and work with Board of Regents entities on fiscal and administrative affairs.

“I am honored to join Highlander Nation and contribute to the mission of Gordon State College. Together, we will foster an environment of collaboration and innovation, empowering our students to excel and positively impact their communities,” Williams said. “I look forward to working alongside dedicated faculty and staff as we strive for excellence in education and support the growth of our college.”

Williams, a resident of Henry County, holds a doctorate in business administration with a concentration in accounting from Argosy University in Pittsburgh. She is a certified public accountant, earning her certification in 2010. Her academic background includes a master’s in accounting and an MBA in finance, both from the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship at Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida. Williams also earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Northwood University in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Focusing on a culture of excellence and continuous improvement, Williams aims to foster success through the addition of continuing education programs and workshops, an enriched student experience and greater transparency in financial reporting to stakeholders.
