Highlander EDGE Awards For 2021 Presented At Gordon State College

Gordon State College presented its 2021 Highlander EDGE Awards on Monday, May 3 as the institution celebrated the accomplishments of students, faculty and staff.

The Highlander EDGE represents qualities that set Gordon graduates apart: Engaged Innovators, Dedicated Scholars, Gifted Communicators and Ethical Leaders.

“I am constantly reminded of the talented people we have at Gordon State College and the Highlander EDGE Awards is another example,” said Dr. Kirk A. Nooks, GSC President. “We are proud of the qualities in these women and men to earn the distinction of being a Highlander EDGE award recipients and we look to watching them continuing to excel in the future.”

Outstanding students are selected by faculty and staff for the Highlander EDGE Awards and, in return, the nominated students also selected a faculty or staff member who has most influenced, guided and demonstrated exceptional leadership to them.

“The Highlander EDGE Awards ceremony has developed into a wonderful tradition for our campus community,” said Dr. Janssen, who coordinated this year’s event. “I can’t think of a better way to end an academic year than to celebrate the successes of our student, faculty and staff award recipients.”
