Gordon State College Board of Trustees Welcomes New Member
The Gordon State College Board of Trustees is adding a new member for the 2022-23 academic year, Janie McDaniel Evans of Griffin, Ga.
Evans is a 1996 graduate of the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business with a BBA in marketing and sales. She is heavily involved in the daily management and operation of two Griffin, Ga. based businesses: Lucon, Inc. and JME Sales, Inc.
In 2010, Evans and her husband Luke opened Lucon, Inc., a manufacturing facility targeting the niche design and production of trailers, industry-specific equipment, and port equipment. Drawing on her professional background, including years in the insurance industry, Evans oversees human resources and safety compliance functions as well as working in customer development, sales, and logistics. In 2012, she launched JME Sales, Inc. as a certified Woman Owned Small Business Enterprise specializing in the sales of trailers and heavy equipment. JME Sales, Inc. acts as a dealer for 12 major nationwide manufacturers and Evans handles all company operations and functions.
“We are excited to have Janie McDaniel Evans joining our Gordon State College Foundation Board,” said Vice President of Advancement, External Relations, and Marketing, Montrese Adger Fuller. “She will be a wonderful new addition, and we are confident that she will do great things in the years to come.”
Evans and her husband, Luke, have three children, two grandchildren, and two German Shepherds. All of whom enjoy spending time together, working, and playing as a family.
“Gordon State College holds a special place in my heart,” said Evans. “Three generations of my family have attended and it’s an honor to serve as a voice and advocate for such an excellent institution.”
