About AAUP
For the past seventy-five years, the AAUP has been engaged in developing standards for sound academic practice, academic freedom and tenure. The policy statements of and recommended institutional regulations by the AAUP are acknowledged as the prevailing standards within the academic community.
Gordon State College Chapter is a member of the national AAUP and the state organization, the Georgia Conference of the AAUP. The Georgia Conference of the AAUP helps all faculty members, whether or not they are members of the organization.
Who can join the AAUP?
Members of the teaching faculty holding ten-month contracts, professional librarians and counselors are eligible to join, according to the guidelines of the Georgia Conference of AAUP.
How to Become a Member
It's easy. Go to http://www.aaup.org/aaup and download the membership form. Complete the form and return to the national office, or call the national membership department at 800. 424. 2973, ext. 3032.
Annual National Dues for non-tenured and temporary full-time faculty may be paid on an installment plan. Each month 1/12th of the total would be deducted automatically from your bank account.
