Campus Campaign FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I support Gordon State by making a gift through the Faculty & Staff Campus Campaign?

Giving is a personal decision and our individual reasons for contributing are many. But we have at least one common purpose - to support the reason we're all here - the students.

As faculty and staff members, we have the privilege of working closely with students. The Faculty & Staff Campus Campaign allows us the opportunity to show that we believe in our school and our students' potential. As you may know, tuition and state funding do not cover the entire cost to educate a student. Private gifts help make up the difference by supporting resources and opportunities that otherwise, would not be available.

A high Faculty & Staff giving percentage is an endorsement by employees that the College is a worthy place to work for and deserving of their financial investment. Equally as important as this funding, is the strong message sent to those beyond the college community, announcing that we support Gordon State College and feel it is worthy of their support, too.

How much should I give?

Each gift; no matter how big or how small; is important. Whatever amount, your gift shows that you believe in the future of Gordon State College.

What are the ways to give?

You can give a gift by payroll deduction, currency, a check made payable to the GSC Foundation, or by credit card.

How does payroll deduction work?

Payroll deduction is one of the most convenient ways to make a gift. By completing the payroll deduction section of the Faculty & Staff Campus Campaign pledge form you specify the amount you would like deducted from each paycheck.  Your last pay-stub of the calendar year (viewable in OneUSG) shows the amount donated for tax purposes.  You can request a tax letter from the Advancement Office.

Is my gift tax deductible?

Yes.  The Gordon State College Foundation is an exempt organization as described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Is my gift confidential?

Your participation is shared with campus campaign committee; however, we do not provide information about the amount of your gift.

Do I get to choose how my contribution will be used?

Yes. You can direct your gift to the Annual Fund (unrestricted) or select an existing fund or scholarship.
