New Student Orientation

 What is New Student Orientation?

You can think of it as the final piece of the puzzle to becoming a Highlander! New Student Orientation, or NSO, is mandatory for all new incoming students. 

New Freshmen, Transfer, and prior-dual enrolled students must complete FORGE Online Orientation in order to receive a schedule. 

Use the blocks below to complete your final steps to becoming a Highlander! 

FORGE Online Orientation

FORGE Online Orientation will walk you through important things like logging into your email and BannerWeb accounts, completing your FAFSA, learn about FERPA, Career Services, Academic Focus Areas, and more! 

Once you complete FORGE, make sure you complete the scheduling survey by following the link on the Next Steps Page. Once you do that , sign up for your NSO date by clicking the link in Step 2.  At NSO, you will meet faculty and get your schedule.

Complete the FAFSA!

The Free Application for Federal Student will be used to help you see how much financial aid you are eligible for at Gordon State. Please complete the FAFSA as soon as possible so the funds will be in your account to help you pay for your classes. You will need Gordon's School Code: 001575.

Apply For Housing!

Living on Campus is the best way to get to know fellow students and to get involved. Apply early so you have the best chance of getting the room you want! 

What do I need to do before coming to New Student Orientation?

  1. Be admitted to Gordon State. Check your admissions status here. Click here to apply if you have not applied.
  2. Submit final high school and/or college transcripts
  3. Send your Immunization Records and your Verification of Lawful Presence to admissions@gordonstate.edu.
  4. Log into your BannerWeb and Gordon email accounts. Click here to find out how
