Gordon State Athletics Excels Academically in Fall 2020

Gordon State College Athletics is proud to announce 38 student-athletes were honored on the Dean’s List for the fall 2020 semester, including 11 women and men on the baseball, softball and women’s soccer teams earning a perfect 4.0 grade-point average for the term.

The GSC softball team led the way with 13 student-athletes making the Dean’s List, which requires a 3.50 GPA or better during the academic term.

Meanwhile, the GSC baseball team had 12 student-athletes named to the Dean’s List while the Highlanders’ women’s soccer team placed 11 student-athletes on the academic honor roll.

GSC men’s basketball also had two student-athletes complete the Dean’s List honorees for the fall 2020 semester.

GSC Athletics will see its first official regular season action since March 2020 when the Highlander baseball team hits the road for a February 2 contest at Chattahoochee Valley Community College in Phenix City, Ala.

The Gordon State College Department of Athletics is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA). Gordon State College competes in NJCAA Division I in the sports of Women’s Soccer (Fall), Men’s Basketball (Fall/Spring), Softball (Spring) and Baseball (Spring). Gordon State College is located in Barnesville, Ga., approximately 60 miles south of Atlanta and 35 miles northwest of Macon.
