Career Services Advisory Board Hosts Fall Meeting

Gordon State College’s Business Advisory Board met virtually Tuesday with community partners to collaborate on ideas to enhance the work to further develop internship and career opportunities for students. President Kirk A. Nooks provided an update on the college’s COVID-19 Task Force and stressed The Healthy Highlander Way as well as a recap of the past and current semesters. Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs C. Jeffery Knighton provided the college’s mid-term update, retention efforts and explained The Highlander EDGE. The Highlander EDGE are noted qualities that set Gordon graduates apart: Engaged Innovators, Dedicated Scholars, Gifted Communicators
During the meeting, the group discussed the need to create intentional relationships that will develop our internship pipeline within our 14 County Service Region. Guest speaker, Education Coordinator at the Tubman Museum in Macon Jacquez Harris shared how students in the fine arts and business programs can take advantage of internship opportunities within the arts industry.
