GSC Hosts Spring Career and Grad Expo

Employers, Grad Schools on Site for Event

More than 25 employers and institutions for higher education shared the spotlight for Gordon State College’s 2020 Career and Grad Fair Expo Wednesday.

The event provided an opportunity for graduates to clear the institutional process for graduation and connect with graduate schools such as University of Georgia, Mercer University, Augusta University, Georgia College and State University and Life University.

Future K-12 educators had an opportunity to connect with recruiters from Monroe, Lamar, Henry, Crawford and Newton counties, all schools within GSC’s 14-county service region. Business students connected with State Farm, United Bank, and Waffle House. Human Services students connected with the Georgia Department of Human Services, Baptist Children's Homes and In the Door. Future GSC nursing graduates were excited to have the opportunity to connect with Upson Regional Medical Center.

The Georgia Department of Labor were also available to assist students with identifying job opportunities. Non-graduates who are currently seeking internships were also present during the fair.

GSC students were able to practice their networking skills prior to the fair during the Career Services Spring Networking Mixer.  During the mixer students were able to practice utilizing various networking questions with employer partners.  Students received immediate feedback to enhance networking skills from employers during the Career and Grad Expo.
