Resident Students Return to Campus Aug. 4

Gordon State College resident students return to campus Saturday, Aug. 4.

“Move-In Day is from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and we want our neighbors to be aware that traffic near campus, especially along College Drive and Highlander Way, might be heavier than usual for a Saturday morning,” said Tonya Coleman, Interim Vice President of Student Affairs. “We have plans in place to help with the flow of traffic.”

In the time between Move-In Day and classes getting underway on Wednesday, Aug. 8, many activities are planned through Residence Life and Student Activities to help new and returning residents acclimate to campus.

“We plan to have everyone moved in by 3:30,” Coleman said. “Our new residents will remain on campus to take part in activities and prepare for the academic year while family, friends, and helpers make their way home.”

About 1,000 students live in Gordon’s five residence halls.
