AAMI Sponsors Campus Visit Day

The Gordon State College branch of the African American Male Initiative will hold a campus visit day on Thursday, June 26, for students interested in attending Gordon and joining the program.

The event is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is intended to showcase AAMI and Gordon State College to prospective students.

AAMI is open for Fall 2014 to 25 African American male students who apply as first-year, first-time freshmen. The program is a living/learning community structure where members support one another academically and socially. Weekly meetings, study groups, and a partnership with the campus club Brother2Brother are available to students who are accepted into the program.

The event is an opportunity for both parents and students to visit the campus, ask questions, and get to know more about AAMI and Gordon State.

During the day, Gordon State College Director of Admissions Ben Ferguson will speak to students and parents about the admissions process, financial aid options, and campus offerings like the Student Success Center.

Students interested in attending the event can register by emailing Fredrick Bailey, AAMI coordinator, at fredrickb@gordonstate.edu or by calling 678-359-5236.
