Tuition Assistance Program

The University System of Georgia Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) is an excellent resource for Gordon employees to seek professional development via courses offered at USG institutions. This program allows full-time* employees to enroll in courses and/or programs offered by Gordon or other University System of Georgia schools with little to no cost*.

 

Specifics about TAP:

  • Available only for full-time* employees who have successfully completed six months of employment
  • Employees can enroll in courses at Gordon or another University System of Georgia Institution (technical and/or private colleges are not part of TAP)
  • TAP usually addresses tuition. Sometimes there are related extra fees that are not covered
  • TAP will cover up to 9 credit hours per semester
  • TAP does not cover textbooks, travel to class, graduate entrance exams, or application fees
  • Certain USG programs (such as dental, law, medical, pharmacy, veterinary, or executive/premiere graduate school program) are not covered
  • Many graduate programs are covered by TAP
  • Employees must submit a TAP application to Gordon's TAP Coordinator each enrolled semester
  • Employees using TAP must register during a certain window designated by the corresponding school
  • Employees using TAP must score at least a "C" or better in each TAP approved course
  • Employees using TAP must furnish a copy of his/her grade(s) to Gordon's TAP coordinator every semester enrolled

Steps of the TAP process:

  1. Employee completes a TAP application (every semester), which is signed by their supervisor, and submitted to Gordon's TAP Coordinator by the due date
  2. Gordon's TAP Coordinator will process the applications and notify corresponding USG institutions.
  3. Employee participating in TAP will register for courses via the corresponding institution.
  4. After completing the course, employee will need to provide Gordon's TAP Coordinator with his/her final grades for courses covered by TAP
