09-29-2014

If your plan to earn a college degree was delayed by work, family or other responsibilities Gordon State College is offering an opportunity to learn about earning a bachelor’s degree in human services through Weekend College.

InfoNight@McDonough is Tuesday, Oct. 7, 6 to 8 p.m. at Gordon State at McDonough, 401 Tomlinson St.

Gordon State’s Weekend College is an accelerated, flexible program designed to accommodate the unique needs of adult learners. Classes are held one weekend a month at Gordon State’s McDonough campus with students completing the remainder of their studies online. College credit may be awarded for previous experience and training.

Human Services is a multidisciplinary profession integrating the fields of psychology, sociology, government and administration. Human services professionals are employed in a wide variety of settings, including government and private social service agencies, vocational rehabilitation facilities, substance abuse rehabilitation centers, and residential facilities treating the elderly and intellectually challenged.

Advisers from admissions, financial aid, and academics will be on hand at both InfoNights to assist adult learners with a college application, financial aid applications, and questions about class offerings, academic programs, and free tutoring.

For more information or to RSVP for InfoNight, contact program coordinator Melinda Hawley, associate professor of human services, at 678-359-5388 or email her at weekendcollege@gordonstate.edu
