Gordon State College Tops List for Least Expensive In-State Tuition and Fees

03-30-2017

Gordon State College tops a list compiled by U.S. News of schools with the least expensive in-state tuition and fees for the 2016-17 school year.

Nearly 60 percent of college freshmen attend a four-year public institution within 100 miles of their permanent home, according to a survey conducted by The Higher Education Research Institute at the University of California – Los Angeles.

But not all four-year public institutions are inexpensive for in-state students, according to the report. In-state tuition and fees at a four-year school can range from slightly more than $4,150 to more than $18,500 annually, according to data submitted by 299 ranked public institutions to U.S. News in an annual survey.

Gordon State College charged $4,164 in tuition and fees for the 2016-17 school year, the least among any four-year public institution, U.S. News data show.

“Gordon State is an excellent value in many ways,” said Tamara Boatwright, GSC Public Information Officer. With an enrollment of 3,900 students, Gordon State offers an intimate academic setting in state-of-the-art classrooms and laboratories on a beautiful 235-acre campus. In this setting, students receive individualized attention that only a small state college with dedicated faculty and staff can provide.”

Gordon State College also offers a vibrant campus life with on-campus, apartment-style living, NJCAA sports for male and female student athletes, as well as club sports, clubs representing a variety of interests, an active theater and music program and an inviting campus with plenty of green space.
