2006 Mozart Celebration
On Friday, April 28th, 2006, the Gordon College Music Program celebrated Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's 250th birthday with a concert entitled "Like Austrian Crystal", a recital of Mozart gems for the soprano voice. Coloratura soprano Lisa Foerster performed an all-Mozart program of vocal music – including concert and operatic arias. Foerster is an accomplished vocalist whose performances include opera, art song and oratorio in the United States as well as in Germany. Accompanying Foerster was pianist Winifred Goodwin, who is in demand as a chamber musician, orchestral player and accompanist. She has been the principal keyboardist with the South Carolina Philharmonic Orchestra since 1982, performing on piano, celesta, harpsichord, and synthesizer and has been a featured soloist on a number of programs, including more than 100 performances of Saint-Saens' "Carnival of the Animals."
