2003 Spring Choral Concert

The Gordon College Choirs performed their Spring Choral Concert in the Fine Arts Auditorium on Thursday evening, April 24, 2003, at 7:30 p.m. The program included music from a variety of style periods and genres. Some of the highlights included: I'm Gonna Sing Til the Spirit Moves in my Heart by Moses Hogan, Schubert's Kyrie from the Mass in G, Prayer of St. Francis by Allen Pote, madrigals (The Silver Swan, April is in my Mistress's Face, Walking on the Green Grass, Les fleurs et les abres), and Palestrina's Sicut Cervus. Lighter selections include It Don't Mean a Thing if it Ain't Got that Swing and a special premier composition by Gordon student Toricka Johnson, entitled "God is my Best Friend."

In addition to the choirs, the Gordon College Band made its first appearance, directed by Mr. Peter F. Randall. The 14-member Band performed three selections at the beginning of the program.
