BSN Program Description

Gordon State College’s School of Nursing faculty have designed the curriculum based on concepts and competencies derived from recommendations for the education of nurses, changes in nursing practice and health care delivery, and changes in population health. Healthcare is a complex and rapidly evolving system that compels nursing education to graduate students who are capable of using sound clinical reasoning to make prudent decisions in order to facilitate the delivery of safe, quality care. Graduates must be prepared to interact within today’s complex healthcare environment; appreciate the ambiguity associated with nursing practice and healthcare delivery; maintain compassion, civility and integrity; and be attuned to the needs of individuals, families, and the larger community.
